Victoria M.

They say that you’re either right brained or left brained- preferring the arts or science. Victoria’s spent a lifetime of busting this myth! She received her PhD studying biology and animal behavior, as well as teaching science. It was during her studies, that a professor discovered she had a knack with art… so she obviously went and illustrated his book. She’s painted still-lifes and landscapes, but also did an in depth study on Christian Iconology and paintings. Talk about a woman of many talents! While Victoria doesn’t teach science anymore, she is teaching some Lakewood members how to speak Ukrainian. When she’s not educating, Victoria enjoys spending time with her husband, Gordon, her daughter and grandchildren. Her studies on animal behavior and horseback riding as a young adult has allowed her to blossom in our program!

🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share our latest purchase for the program—a brand-new horse cart! 🐴🚛 At first, we weren’t sure if Nappy would be on board, but look at him now! He’s having a blast (well maybe that’s exaggerating- he’s into it to get more grass), but we can't wait to take our kids for a ride today!

As we warm Nappy up, he’s even helping us move some grain for the horses. And of course, Cindy just had to hop on for a little joyride! 🎉❤️

Stay tuned for more fun adventures with our new cart and the kids! 🥳

🌟 What a fantastic day at the farm with our Transitions Day friends! 🌟

Today, we organized an exciting scavenger hunt, where everyone had a blast searching for treasures like chicken feathers, pinecones, horse halters, and even discovering our hay storage! 🐔🍂🐴

After the scavenger hunt, we spent time with our horses and donkeys, grooming them and sharing some delicious apples. 🍏🐴💕

It truly warmed our hearts to catch up after a few weeks apart and see the smiles on everyone’s faces while enjoying the beauty of the farm. Can’t wait for our next adventure together! 😊

🌱🌼 Exciting things are happening at our Community Garden as we get ready for the new season! Our kiddos have been hard at work in the tunnel, cleaning up our winter crops of broccoli, cabbage, and brussels sprouts, pulling weeds, and pulling up landscape fabric to prepare the soil for fertilization and mushroom compost. Then, we feed the greens to the goats! 🌿✨

These hands-on activities are not just about gardening; they’re valuable lessons in gross and fine motor skills, following directions, and understanding the journey of food from the ground to our plates. Plus, there’s so much joy and laughter along the way! 🥦🍽️

We're thrilled to watch our kids grow alongside our garden! Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being part of our green community! 💚🌍 #CommunityGarden #GrowingTogether #HandsOnLearning #SeedToTable
