I started riding horses when I was 16, it was a wonderful experience trail riding for a year. When I was 49 I lost my youngest daughter. She was 21 and it was a single car accident. I was devastated and for 4 years I could not see a way to ever be happy again.

When I met Bonnie, she had recently experienced losing her daughter and we seemed able to help each other. She was a 12 year old 16hh Belgian mare and it took me about 10 seconds to fall in love with her.

I think horses are great therapists, but Bonnie was amazing at helping me heal. I believe if you let a horse hold your heart they will make you so glad you did.

Horses can give you confidence, they can help you understand yourself and they can help you learn to trust. I volunteer to help others experience horses and some of their undeniable gifts.

Today, I take care of the animals on my small property- 2 horses, 4 cats, 2 dogs, 6 hens, 2 roosters and 1 wonderful husband who helped me see it was possible to be happy again.
